- What did you do at your internship?
Ireland, Paulina Stokowiec – Hospitality: Learning about hotel industry, facilities of hotel, giving tourist information about Valencia, systems used in a hotel, learning generally about the job in reception desk, answering calls, doing general tasks and other.
USA, Cheryl Thomas - Journalism: I’ve assisted in the bookstore, warehouse, accounting department, and marketing department.
Germany, Daniela Leone – Administration: Order processing, contact with customers, organization and preparation of transports of goods to customers abroad, preparation of export documentation, other administration activities.
- Which advantages did you get from being abroad?
USA, Heather McArthur – Architecture: Puedo conocer personas de todo del mundo, aprender y practicar español, vivir una vida diferente de los EEUU.
Germany, Jennifer Kohnert – Tourism: Because I was confronted with so many new things and new people (also in Dublin the 3 month before), I became more open-minded and self-confident. Because of this experience now I know myself better and what is really important to me. I know now people all over the world, because of all the Erasmus-Students. And additionally, of course, I could improve my foreign languages.
- What did you like most about Valencia?
England, Imogen Forrest - International Business: Very friendly and welcoming staff and locals. Really cheap to live. Lovely weather (although air-con is a must!). Lovely beach close to the city. Amazing architecture old and new. Delicious food. Fun bars and clubs. Conclusion – I loved everything about Valencia!
- What do you think about the internship program?
Germany, Katja Fiedler – Journalism: It would be helpful for students, esp. those that need an internship as part of their studies at home to know that the aspect of improving your language skills counts much more with an internship here than improving your professional skills, because you do not always get to do the most skilled tasks as an intern. Nevertheless you learn a lot about the organisation of a company and you get interesting impressions in the working field.
Bulgary, Boyan Lyubomirov – Computer and Technology: The more you know before starting the internship, especially if it is going to be for a short period of time, the more you will be able to get out of it as the company is much more likely to give you more responsibility and work that is relevant to what they actually do thereby teaching you more.
Germany, Claudia Bertsch – Social Volunteering: Toda la experiencia de trabajar en otro país, conocer la gente y la cultura me gustó un montón. Sobre todo porque me di cuenta de que no es tan diferente de Alemania como lo solemos pensar.
